Fiestagumenyo: The Feast of Christ the King


FAMILY, FOOD, & FUN!
The feast of Christ the King is celebrated every November during the last Sunday of the Liturgical Year.  It is a thanksgiving celebration of devotees for the bountiful blessings they have received for the year with a variety of shows, carnivals and other entertainment activities mostly held at the Tagum City Cultural and Trade Center and at the Freedom Park. 
The Fiestagumenyo 2013 features a lot of exciting happenings for everyone!

                   


                      The Giant Christmas Tree Ceremonial Lighting.  This is a holiday event that provides an opportunity for all Tagumenyos to come together to begin the Christmas season and to share the message of peace. This celebration is implemented through the symbolic lighting of the gigantic Holiday Tree at the strike of six in the evening.  The hundred-footer in height gigantic Christmas tree symbolizes solidarity, peace and prosperity.  It is located at the center of the Tagum City Freedom Park.


                The Mutya ng Tagum City will be an avenue where we are installing an Ambassadress of Goodwill with a guiding thrust to assist in promoting Tourism, Social Responsibility, Fashion and Beauty.    They shall represent Tagum City and become instruments in spreading the city’s thrust.  They shall assist the Tourism team bring individuals or establishments to come to Tagum, invite them to sponsor social services activities such as free dental, medical mission, free medicines and feeding, as well as assist in putting up an endowment fund for scholarship program.

Pre-judging will be on the 12TH OF OCTOBER TO NOVEMBER through text voting in schools and in barangays.  Final pageant will be on the 21st of November at the Pavilion, Trade & Cultural Center, Tagum City.

                Entertainment and live performances – Roman Catholic feasts are always associated with the 9 novenas and prayers - that's where we pattern our celebration. Thus, we have various shows and live gigs lined-up for 9 nights of entertainment at public parks.

                Fiesta Parada –  a celebrative parade-procession, in honor of Christ the King featuring the Mutya ng Tagum City winners.

                Fun rides and carnival entertainments – Different carnival operators are enjoined to put up rides within a specific venue to add color and fun to the fiesta celebration.  This will start a month prior to the fiesta celebration.

                Trade Fair – this is organized to provide venue for the local SMEs to sell their products at a very affordable price.  This is a month-long market fair usually held at the Rotary Park.
