Mutya ng Tagum City 2013: Call for Participation

After 72 long years of being a municipality and 15 years of becoming a chartered city, Tagum is finally joining the band wagon of a great Filipino tradition... the grandiose search for its muse... the Mutya ng Tagum City.

The City Government of Tagum, through the Tagum City Tourism Office, is embarking on the first ever official search for the Mutya ng Tagum City. It is hoped that this is the beginning of what would be a continuing highlight in the city's annual calendar of events.

With present trends, seeing pageants transcending the conventional trite notions of beauty tilts, the Mutya beyond just outward physical beauty represents the enlightened Tagumenya. She is strong-willed, outspoken yet charming, confident yet humble and whose intelligence and skills are dedicated to goodwill and community building.

This activity dubbed as "The Search for the 1st Official Mutya ng Tagum City," will be an avenue for the City of Tagum to be able to install an Ambassadress of Goodwill whose guiding thrusts are to assist in promoting tourism, social responsibility, fashion and beauty and to be an instrument in the advancement of the city’s objectives.

Who will reign?

As a matter of responsibilities during her one-year reign, the Mutya ng Tagum performs the following duties:

1. Leads the reception team that welcomes guests to the city;
2. Attends official, social and cultural functions of the city;
3. Represents the city when assigned to special events within and outside the city;
4. Assists the Tourism team in enticing individuals or establishments to come to Tagum;
5. Assists particular agencies in inviting prospective sponsors to social service activities such as free dental, medical mission, free medicines,feeding programs, etc.;
6. Assists in putting up an endowment fund for scholarship program/s;
7. Performs her proposed community development project in partnership with assigned agency/ies, organization/s and/or foundation/s

These are the Official Mechanics and Guidelines for the 1st ever Mutya ng Tagum City, of which its grand coronation is happening this coming "Fiestagumenyo" during the month of November, 2013.

This is the Official Entry Form for the 1st ever Mutya ng Tagum City, of which its grand coronation is happening as a highlight for November 2013's Fiestagumenyo.

This is one of the requirements stated in the Mutya ng Tagum City 2013 Official Guidelines and Mechanics.

Upon accomplishment of this form and completion of the other requirements, the package should be submitted to the Tagum City Tourism Office, Beachvolleydrome, Rotary Park, Tagum City, Province of Davao del Norte, on or before October 4, 2013, 5:00 pm.
