The City Government of Tagum, under the new
administration, is really sincere and serious about its commitment to really
give due importance and recognition to the role and contribution of every
Tagumenyo in the development and progress of our beloved city. Hence, the city government wants to create a
positive impact on development through a God-centered and people-oriented
governance.
With its 10-point development thrusts, better
known as the E.A.G.L.E. W.I.N.G.S., the City Government of Tagum creates a
platform from which the EAGLE can take off and spread its WINGS in order to soar
high and promote the message of unity to Tagumenyos all over the world.

Through the City Tourism Office, significant and meaningful events
are organized that would help uplift the level of consciousness of all
Tagumenyos that we all have that shared social responsibility to our beloved constituents. It is but high time that all Tagumenyos, not
only within the city and the country but all over the world, must unite for a
more progressive Tagum City.
With this, the Balikbayan
Program of the City of Tagum: TAGUMENYO BISA’G ASA is conceived. This will be the first grand homecoming of all Tagumenyos across the globe!
Vision
We stand on our
principle that the progress and development of the City of Tagum is a shared
responsibility.
We unite ourselves in
diversity where Tagumenyos with varied social, cultural, political, and spiritual
background must be respected; and where individuals can realize their full
human potential.
We believe in the great
Filipino tradition of “Bayanihan”
where Tagumenyos here and abroad, know their neighbors and work collectively in
order to build a strong Tagum City.
We embody strong
self-determination that the voice of every Tagumenyo, here and abroad, be heard
in every decision-making process of the Local Government Unit. Thus, empowering them in the community where
they live and work, and in the larger society.
Mission

To provide a venue where the
people of Tagum City can connect with our fellow Tagumenyos across the globe,
reach out to them, and bring them once again to revisit and relive the good
memories of our original ‘home’.

Tagumenyo, here and abroad, could improve our collective capacity to address
the city’s immediate and long-term needs through the E.A.G.L.E. W.I.N.G.S.
development thrust of the city government.

Goals

To create an event where
Tagumenyos across the globe can come home to our beloved Tagum City and revisit
the place we all call, ‘home’;

To create and build an
organization of “Balikbayan Tagumenyos” that serves as a center for community
gatherings, resources, and organizing; thus, raises the visibility of the Tagumenyo
community across the globe;

To help the City Government of
Tagum in analyzing all documented social conditions, problems, and issues
facing our beloved City of Tagum so that we may collectively and consciously
address our common needs;

To assist the City Government of
Tagum in implementing the basic services to the people specially in health,
education, shelter, clothing, and human rights;

To support the City Government of
Tagum in empowering the duly recognized civic organizationsof the city to
ensure that they have equal access to resources and opportunities for advancing
their development as an individual and as a group; and
·
To assist the City Government of
Tagum in ensuring that the children and youth community of the City have
increased access to quality education, opportunities, and other necessary
resources and support to realize their full potential and to become active and
responsible members and leaders of the community.
